Jerrell Lee Fuller was born November 19th, 1938 in Fort Worth, Texas. He moved to Los Angeles in 1959 where he secured a recording contract with Challenge Records and recorded many songs with varying degrees of success.
In 1961 he wrote Travelin’ Man which was originally intended to be recorded by Sam Cooke. However, the track was recorded by Ricky Nelson and sold more than six million copies worldwide.

In 1967 he moved to Columbia Records as a producer where he discovered Gary Puckett and The Union Gap who were playing in the lounge of a San Diego bowling alley.
Writing and producing Young Girl which was released in January 1968, the song reached number one in the UK and Canada. Some people get their knickers in a knot about the song claiming it somehow promotes paedophillia. Listening to the record, it is of course about a romance that cannot be.

He also produced the hit record Lady Willpower which reached number one in the UK and Canada in 1968. Woman, Woman also charted reaching number 4 in the USA Billboard charts and number 48 in the UK singles chart.

In 1973 he wrote and produced Show And Tell for Al Wilson which reached number one on the Billboard hot 100 selling over 2 million copies.

Jerry Fuller recorded Double Life on Challenge and this became a regular play at soul clubs in the UK.

Young Girl – Great writing, singing and video…
Lyrics
Young girl
Get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run, girl
You’re much too young, girl
With all the charms of a woman
You’ve kept the secret of your youth
You led me to believe you’re old enough
To give me love
And now it hurts to know the truth
Woah, oh, oh
Young girl
Get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
You’d better run, girl
You’re much too young, girl
Beneath your perfume and make-up
You’re just a baby in disguise
And though you know
That it’s wrong to be
Alone with me
That ‘come on’ look is in your eyes
Woah, oh, oh
Young girl
Get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run, girl
You’re much too young, girl
So hurry home to your mama
I’m sure she wonders where you are
Get out of here
Before I have the time
To change my mind
‘Cause I’m afraid we’ll go too far
Woah, oh, oh
Young girl
Get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
You’d better run, girl
You’re much too young, girl
Young girl
Get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
You’d better run, girl
You’re much too young, girl
Young girl
Get out of my mind
