The Silhouettes – Not Me Baby is a fabulous piece of R&B with blasting horns, chomping 4 on the 4 beat, and rasping male vocals led by Bill Horton. This isn’t a soft down in the dumps lament about a lost love, it is a gutsy mad as hell you ain’t coming back to me kind of story.
“And if someone should make you cry, who do you think is gonna dry your eyes? – Oh Not Me Baby, I Said Not Me Baby”

Released as a promotional single with the album – Get A Job which was released in 1957. The album reached number one on both the billboard pop and R&B charts in February 1958. The promotional single has always been hard to find, and most copies are well worn, this one is in fabulous condition.

This 1970’s re-release is also becoming hard to get and even the UK issue on Goldmine Sevens rarely comes up for sale nowadays.

The story of the group is well told by Elaine Lewis on this bio CD. More than an hour of listening with interviews and of course the groups best recordings.
