Paul Laurence Dunbar Kelly, born 1940 in Florida and was raised primarily by his grandmother. In 1956 he formed a group with his brother before going to college. Later he joined a group called The Spades later to become the Valadeers. His solo recording Chills And fever was released in 1965 and has remained a Northern Soul ‘oldie for over half a century.
